On December 10, 2024, at 7:40 pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a structure fire at a residence located off of Provincial Road 352, west of Highway 34, in the RM of North Norfolk.
RCMP, along with the local fire department, attended the scene.
Once the fire was brought under control and extinguished, firefighters entered the home and located the remains of a deceased individual within the residence.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Portage la Prairie RCMP, along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate.
