Police seeking information after shots fired in North Preston

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is seeking information in relation to shots fired in North Preston.

This morning, at approximately 4:05 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment and Halifax Regional Police Dog Services responded to a report of shots fired near the 100 block of Simmonds Rd.

Officers learned that shots were heard by nearby residents who also reported hearing a vehicle flee the area. At the scene, officers found evidence consistent with that of a shooting.

There were no reports of injuries or damage to property.

The investigation, which is being led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, is ongoing.
