Police make arrest for robbery

On August 29, 2024 Whitehorse RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at the Virsa Indian Cuisine Restaurant on 4th Avenue and have since located one of the suspects who will be charged with several offences.

On August 29, 2024 at approximately 8:40 pm, two masked males entered the restaurant one was armed with a knife. Money from the cash register was stolen. One of the suspects in this matter was identified and arrested and will appear in court today at 1 pm.

Police determined that one of the alleged perpetrators was currently bound by a conditional sentence order at the time of the robbery.

Police continue to investigate and are seeking available video surveillance footage. Please contact Whitehorse RCMP if you have any information regarding this crime.
