Pembina Valley RCMP respond to fatal two-vehicle collision

On November 15, 2024, at approximately 7:05 pm, Pembina Valley RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Provincial Road 201 and Provincial Road 306, located approximately 13 kilometres west of Altona.

The investigation has determined that a semi-trailer travelling eastbound on Provincial Road 201, being driven by a 25-year-old male from Brampton, Ontario, failed to stop at the intersection with Provincial Road 306.

The semi-trailer entered the intersection and collided with a southbound SUV, being driven by a 35-year-old female from the RM of Rhineland. The 35-year-old female was pronounced deceased on scene. Her eight-year-old female passenger was transported to hospital with life-threatening-injuries to which she later succumbed to.

The 25-year-old male driver of the semi-trailer was transported to hospital where he was treated and released.

Pembina Valley RCMP continue to investigate. Charges are anticipated.
