Assistant Commissioner Matco Sirotic

Assistant Commissioner Matco Sirotic has been named as the new Commanding Officer of the New Brunswick RCMP.

Starting his RCMP career in 2004 after graduating from Depot, Assistant Commissioner Sirotic was promoted to Corporal in 2012 and served as the Detachment Commander for Minto, New Brunswick. Progressing through the ranks, he moved to the Criminal Operations Division in Nunavut in 2014, where he was later promoted to Sergeant. In 2017, he became a Staff Sergeant and took on the role of Detachment Commander for the Iqaluit Detachment in Nunavut before transferring to Halifax, Nova Scotia, as the Watch Commander for the Halifax District.

In 2020, Assistant Commissioner Sirotic became a Commissioned Officer and served as the Director of the Atlantic Regional Departmental Security Section for Nova Scotia. Recognized for his leadership in operational policy and criminal operations, he was appointed Officer in Charge of Operational Policy at H Division in 2023. The next year, he was promoted to Superintendent and became Officer in Charge of Specialized Policing and Operational Support Services in New Brunswick.

"Since coming to J Division, I have been very taken with the level of care and expertise demonstrated by the membership, Public Service Employees, municipal employees, and the dedication of the management team," says Assistant Commissioner Sirotic. "I am grateful to have returned to this fantastic province, and I am looking forward to building on the excellent work already in progress and continuing to move our division forward in the years to come."

On December 11, 2024, Assistant Commissioner Matco Sirotic was appointed the thirty-second Commanding Officer of the New Brunswick RCMP, bringing extensive operational experience and a commitment to public safety and policing excellence.
