Morning crash leads to vehicle fire and arrest for impaired driving

October 4, 2024, Tracadie Cross – At 06:30 a.m. this morning, October 4th, 2024, Queens District RCMP and the RCMP Provincial Traffic Unit responded to a two-vehicle collision on Route 2 in Tracadie Cross. Initial indicators appear to show a vehicle crossed the centre line and collided head on with another vehicle.
There were no serious injuries but one of the vehicles caught fire which caused the highway to be closed for approximately an hour. The driver of one of the vehicles, a 22 year old man was arrested for impaired driving.

East River Fire Department and Island EMS responded and assisted in this incident.
