Maidstone RCMP investigating fatal collision

On November 16, 2024 at approximately 12:00 p.m., Maidstone RCMP received a report of a collision at the intersection of Highway #17 and Highway #3 near Alcurve, SK.

Officers responded along with Onion Lake RCMP, Wilton Police Service, local fire and EMS. Initial investigation determined a car and a truck collided.

The driver of the truck was pronounced deceased by EMS while en route to the hospital. He has been identified as a 71-year-old male from Lloydminster. His family has been notified. An adult male passenger of the truck was transported to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

A passenger of the car was pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 27-year-old male from Lloydminster. His family has been notified. The adult male driver of the car was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
