Lunenburg District RCMP arrest a man wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant

Lunenburg District RCMP has arrested Justin Omond who was wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant. He is also now facing a new charge of resist arrest.

On August 12 at approximately 7:00 p.m., investigators received information that Omond was at a home on Bond Dr. in Chester. When RCMP officers arrived at the scene, Omond fled on foot into a wooded area.

At approximately 10:00 p.m., with assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services, Omond was located as he attempted to return to the original location. He was arrested without incident.

In addition to previous charges related to outstanding warrants, Justin Omond, 34, of Goodwood, is now also charged with Resist Arrest.

Omond appeared in court and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to return to Halifax Provincial Court on September 9 at 9:30 a.m.
