Kings District RCMP investigates fatal collision in Berwick

Kings District RCMP is investigating a fatal crash the occurred in Berwick.

On August 25, at approximately 3:55 a.m., Kings District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Hwy 101 between exit 14 and exit 15.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle, a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, was traveling eastbound on the highway when it veered off onto the right shoulder, rolled, and came to rest in the ditch on the north side of the road. Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to hospital. The driver, a 35-year-old Halifax man, was pronounced deceased.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. Hwy. 101 between exits 14 and 15 was closed for several hours, and was reopened that day at approximately 9:30 a.m. The investigation, which is in its early stages, is ongoing.

No additional information will be released at this time.
