May 8, 2024, Borden-Carleton PE – Two people have been charged after Prince District Joint Forces Operations (JFO) made a targeted traffic stop on the Confederation Bridge yesterday morning. Approximately 15 grams of fentanyl was seized and the two were held in custody.
JFO made a targeted traffic stop of a vehicle heading to PEI on the Confederation Bridge yesterday morning at just after 2:00 a.m. Three people were arrested, two charged and approximately 15 grams of fentanyl was seized. 31-year-old Courtney Fogarty and 25-year old Graydon Hearn, both of Summerside, have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and will appear in Summerside provincial court at a later date.
Fentanyl is often sold by the 1/10th of a gram, so this seizure represents approximately 150 potential uses.
This search was completed by Prince District JFO, the RCMP Police Dog Service and East Prince RCMP.
