Islanders reporting impaired drivers leads to four investigations.

On June 7, at 12:33 a.m. Queens District RCMP responded to a report of a crash involving an SUV that collided with a tree in Hazelbrook. A 22-year-old man failed a roadside alcohol screening device and was taken to hospital. This investigation is ongoing.

On June 7, at 8:33 p.m. the RCMP Provincial Traffic Services and Prince District officers responded to a report of an impaired driver in Malpeque. A 19-year-old man was arrested for alcohol impaired driving.

On June 9, at 1:50 a.m. Kings District RCMP responded to a report of an impaired driver in Montague. A 24-year-old man was arrested for alcohol impaired driving.

On June 9, at 5:35 p.m. Prince District RCMP responded to a report of a scooter that had crashed three times in the area of the Confederation Bridge. The 32-year-old man was located in Crapaud and arrested for alcohol impaired driving.

"These four examples demonstrate how making a call to the police when you see a suspected impaired driver helps to make the roads safer for everyone. If you see an impaired driver, call 911," says Cpl Gavin Moore Media Relations Officer for the Prince Edward Island RCMP.
