Inverness County District RCMP arrest youth for threats, weapon possession

Inverness County District RCMP arrested a youth related to threats made online and directed at another youth.

On September 11, Inverness County District RCMP attended a school in the Mabou area in relation to a report that a youth made threats on a social media platform. The threats were directed at a peer.

School staff contacted police and separated the youth from others in the school, then found that the youth was also in possession of an edged weapon, which was confiscated.

Officers attended, arrested the youth, and seized the weapon. The youth was later released on conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
