Indian Head RCMP: one arrested after armed robbery

On September 28, 2024, at approximately 6:23 p.m., Indian Head RCMP was dispatched to a business on the 200 block of Main Street in McLean, Saskatchewan, after reports of an armed robbery.

Investigation determined that a lone adult male entered the business carrying an edged weapon. The male took money from the cash register then left the business and fled in a vehicle.

The vehicle was located on a grid road by File Hills Police Service who were assisting in the investigation and the driver was taken into custody.

As a result, 53-year-old Shahn Hunter of Regina, SK, has been charged with:

  • Robbery with a weapon, Sec. 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Possession of a weapon, Sec. 88, CC
  • Drive while prohibited, Sec. 320.18(1)(a), CC

He has been remanded and will make his first appearance at Fort Qu'Appelle Provincial Court via phone on Monday, September 30, 2024.
