Fort McPherson RCMP seize 169 bottles of bootleg liquor in July

The RCMP in Fort McPherson have had a busy month. In July alone, as a result of several investigations into bootlegging activity, the detachment has seized a total of 169 bottles of illicit liquor and laid several charges under the Liquor Act.

These seizures represent a substantial amount of lost profits for bootleggers.

The unlawful sale of alcohol continues to be an issue in Fort McPherson and other areas of the Northwest Territories. The RCMP is committed to addressing the issue of bootlegging and reducing the harm that these activities cause to our communities.

The RCMP in Fort McPherson would like to thank those members of the public who have taken ownership of the community and reported suspected bootlegging.
