Cumberland County District RCMP continue to search for a wanted man following the execution of search warrants in Birchwood and Hansford.
This morning, the Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Cumberland County District RCMP, with the assistance of the RCMP's Emergency Response Team, executed two search warrants in connection with an ongoing drug, firearms and stolen property investigation.
At this time, officers have safely arrested seven men and one woman at a residence in the 100-block of Hansford Rd. An ongoing search of the property resulted in the seizure of more than two dozen firearms.
At the second search location, a home in the 7600-block of Hwy. 204, officers located and seized a stolen utility trailer.
As the investigation continues, officers believe that a man wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant was at the Hansford residence prior to their arrival.
