Bay St. George RCMP responds to vehicle crash in Port au Port; woman refuses roadside breath test

A 48-year-old woman was arrested by Bay St. George RCMP after crashing a vehicle in Port au Port on December 6, 2024.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, police received the report that a vehicle had departed the road on Romaine's Road. Officers attended the scene and located the driver seated in the vehicle. The woman showed signs of alcohol impairment and was provided a breath demand for a roadside breath test. The driver refused to provide a breath sample and was arrested. She is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired operation and refusing a breath demand.

The vehicle was seized and impounded and the woman's licence was suspended.
