News release

Bay Roberts RCMP is investigating a break, enter and theft that occurred on September 12, 2024, at C&N Used Cars in Spaniards Bay. A 2019 grey Nissan Qashqai was stolen from the parking lot and has since been recovered.

Between 11:30 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, and midnight on Thursday, September 12, two masked suspects wearing hoodies entered the parking lot of the business, one carrying a crow bar. Suspects forced entry into the building, obtained the keys for the stolen vehicle from inside and departed the property in the vehicle.

Suspects returned to the business two more times after this, at approximately 1:30 and 3:00 am, attempting to steal other vehicles on the lot. During their last attempt, suspects were alerted by a nearby resident and fled the scene. A third suspect, who is not seen on the surveillance provided here, was present when the crime was committed.

The Nissan Qashqai was recovered in St. John's by the RNC last night.
