A 77-year-old woman from Bouctouche, N.B., has died as the result of a two-vehicle collision in Bouctouche, N.B.

On September 7, 2024, at approximately 5: 32 p.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Irving Boulevard in Bouctouche.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver and sole occupant of a SUV, a 77-year-old woman, failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and was struck by a car. The 77-year-old woman died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The driver and passenger of the car were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the Bouctouche Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick attended the scene. An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the driver's exact cause of death.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
