A 38-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been arrested and stolen property has been recovered in Pennfield, N.B.

On August 27, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the St. George RCMP responded to a report of a stolen Vespa motor scooter from a residence on Brunswick Street, in St. George.

On August 29, while on patrol, a member of the St. George RCMP was able to identify the stolen Vespa motor scooter travelling on Highway 1, near Pennfield. The suspect abandoned the scooter and attempted to flee the area on foot, but was quickly arrested at the scene. Subsequent to the arrest, the man was also found to be wanted on a warrant of committal.

The 38-year-old man was arrested for possession of stolen property and flight from police. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on a later date.

As a result of this good police work and awareness by our frontline RCMP officer, this suspect was promptly arrested and the stolen property was returned to their rightful owner,' said Cpl. Jayson Hansen with the St. George RCMP Detachment.
