A 33-year-old man from Amherst N.S., has died following a two-vehicle collision in Point de Bute, N.B.

On October 23, 2024, at approximately 3:42 p.m., members of the Sackville RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Route 16, in Point de Bute.

The collision is believed to have occurred when a van, travelling Westbound, failed to stop and collided with the rear-end of a transport truck. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the transport truck was uninjured.

Members of the Sackville Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, and the New Brunswick Coroner's Office also attended the scene.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
