A 24-year-old man from Brantville, N.B., has died following a two-vehicle collision near Haut-Rivière-du-Portage, N.B.
On July 14, 2024, at approximately 1:20 a.m., members of the Tracadie RCMP detachment responded to a report of a collision between a side-by-side and a dirt bike on Haché Road in the community.
The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver of the dirt bike collided head-on with the side-by-side. The driver and sole occupant of the dirt bike was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The occupants of the side-by-side were uninjured.
On July 15, the driver of the dirt bike died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
Members of the Tracadie Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick also attended the scene. A collision reconstructionist assisted in the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing.
