19 people charged in connection with drug trafficking investigation

19 people have been charged in connection with an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in Moncton, Dieppe, and Riverview, N.B.

In the fall of 2021, the Codiac Regional RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, along with the New Brunswick Integrated Enforcement Unit, began an investigation targeting street level drug trafficking in the greater Moncton area. Throughout the course of the investigation, police seized quantities of cocaine, Shady 8 pills, fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine, hydromorphone pills, $27,000 in cash, two restricted firearms and a non-restricted firearm.

The operation concluded in November 2022. As a result, the following people have been charged in connection with the investigation:

40-year-old David Steeves was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, and is scheduled to appear in court on January 18, 2024.

37-year-old James Dewolfe was charged with trafficking benzimidazole and trafficking crystal methamphetamine. He is scheduled to appear in court on Janaury 30, 2024.

31-year-old Alysha Randell was charged with trafficking fentanyl. She is scheduled to appear in court on February 2, 2024.

25-year-old Courtney Lutes-Mullins was charged with two counts of trafficking fentanyl. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 24, 2024.

39-year-old Jamie Noel was charged with two counts of trafficking fentanyl. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 24, 2024.

34-year-old Martin Rowe was charged with trafficking cocaine and trafficking fentanyl. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 8, 2024.

49-year-old Stephen Allen was charged with trafficking crystal methamphetamine. He currently has an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court in relation to this charge.

45-year-old Peter Simpson was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 28, 2024.

38-year-old Dana Worden was charged with two counts of trafficking hydromorphone. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 18, 2024.

42-year-old Nicholas Keith was charged with two counts of trafficking fentanyl. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 25, 2024.

28-year-old Luc Allain was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 24, 2024.

40-year-old Ryan Shanks pled guilty to trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal methamphetamine and several firearms related offences on November 15, 2023. He was sentenced to 6 years in jail.

55-year-old Rheal Cormier was charged with trafficking cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine. He entered a guilty plea and is scheduled to appear in court on January 24, 2024, for sentencing.

52-year-old Perry Fader was charged with trafficking cocaine. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 31, 2024.

50-year-old Steven Doucette was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 8, 2024.

44-year-old Kenneth Maccallum pled guilty to two counts of trafficking cocaine and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine on November 24, 2023. He was sentenced to 4 years in jail.

54-year-old Paula Goguen was charged with two counts of trafficking crystal methamphetamine. She is scheduled to appear in court on January 25, 2024.

42-year-old Jason Boucher was charged with trafficking crystal methamphetamine. He currently has an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court in relation to this charge.

34-year-old Hugh Ryan was charged with trafficking crystal methamphetamine. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 24, 2024.

A 60-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., is also facing charges, and is scheduled to appear in court on February 20, 2024, in connection with the investigation.

This investigation was the result of a joint effort between the Codiac Regional RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit and the New Brunswick Integrated Enforcement Unit (IEU). The New Brunswick IEU is made up of members from the New Brunswick RCMP, as well as municipal police and Justice and Public Safety officers in the province. These efforts aim to improve the coordinated response to the growing concerns of drugs, firearms, and organized crime within New Brunswick.

The public plays an important role in helping to reduce, prevent and solve crime, including the trafficking of illegal drugs. Anyone with information about, or who suspects, illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood is asked to contact their local police.
