Yarmouth Town RCMP is investigating mischief to fire hydrants in Yarmouth.

On June 29, 2023, at approximately 9 a.m., Yarmouth Town RCMP received a report of mischief to several fire hydrants on Brunswick, King, Beacon Main, Marsha and Water streets. RCMP officers learned that between 8 p.m. on June 28 and 6 a.m. on June 29, several hydrants had been tampered with, including the removal of the hydrant caps and the activation of the hydrants, resulting in flooding in the basement of a home on Marsha St. The fire hydrants have since been turned off and the hydrant caps replaced.
