A 3-year-old girl and a 52-year-old man have died as a result of a head on collision in Coleman. A 27-year-old woman and a 6-year-old girl are also in hospital.
On October 6 at approximately 7:00 p.m. Prince District RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of the Mud Road and MacPhee Road in Coleman. O'Leary Fire Department and West Point Fire Department along with Island EMS responded to the call.
The 52-year-old man was the driver of one of the vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other vehicle was driven by the 27-year-old woman and she was travelling with two children. The 3-year-old was also pronounced dead at the scene. The woman and the other child were both transported to Prince County Hospital with serious injuries. The 6-year-old child was later sent to the IWK Children's Hospital in Halifax.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist and the PEI Coroner's office are providing additional assistance with the investigation which is still on going.
