32-year-old Nathaniel Sakebow was located at a business in Saskatoon and arrested by the Saskatoon Police Service without incident on July 27, 2023. He is remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on July 28, 2023. Information #: 90196200
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is now looking to the public to report sightings on a white 2007 GMC Envoy midsize SUV with Saskatchewan License Plate 342 MUN.

Update 1: Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigate sudden death on Witchekan First Nation

After continued investigation, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes have identified two individuals involved in the death of 38-year-old Teddy Whitehead from Pelican Lake First Nation, who investigators can now confirm was a victim of a homicide.
An arrest warrant was issued for Nathaniel Sakebow and Chase Cardinal who have each been charged with one count, Manslaughter, contrary to Sec. 236(b) of the Criminal Code.
35-year-old Chase Cardinal from Vilna, AB, was arrested by police without incident earlier this morning in Spiritwood, SK. He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Information # 90196199.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is asking the public to report sightings on the whereabouts of Nathaniel Sakebow from Witchekan Lake First Nation, SK. Nathaniel Sakebow is a 32-year-old male, who is described as being approximately 5'8" and 235 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. A photo of him is attached. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is working diligently to locate Nathaniel Sakebow and continue to follow-up on any information provided to them to further the investigation.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigate sudden death on Witchekan First Nation

On July 15, 2023, at approximately 5:41 p.m., Spiritwood RCMP along with local EMS responded to the report of an assault of a 38-year-old male at a residence on Witchekan Lake First Nation in Saskatchewan. The male was declared deceased on scene. His family has been notified and Victim Services has been engaged to provide support.
Due to the nature of the circumstances of the male victim's death, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes was engaged and assumed carriage of the investigation. Based on preliminary information gathered, the death is considered to be suspicious.
Saskatchewan Coroners Service and the North Battleford RCMP Forensic Identification Section were called to assist and investigate further. An autopsy was ordered and is scheduled to take place on July 17, 2023.
Investigators continue to conduct witness interviews and gather information to develop a clear timeline of events and determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
