May 24: RCMP CTSS conducted safety check stops this weekend – here's what they encountered
May 24: La Ronge RCMP asks public to report whereabouts of male wanted for four counts of attempted murder
May 24: Investigators from the La Ronge RCMP General Investigation Section and the RCMP Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act on the 1200th block of Mirasty Crescent in La Ronge, in relation to an ongoing drug trafficking a firearms investigation. A search of the property resulted in police locating a rifle, approximately one ounce of cocaine, ammunition, digital scales, baggies, cellphones and other miscellaneous items consistent with drug-trafficking activity. Police arrested eight individuals on scene initially without incident; five have since been released without charges.
As a result of this investigation, 21-year-old Awab El-Sandali from Toronto, ON, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, contrary to Sec. 5(2) of the CDSA; obstruction, contrary to Sec. 129(a) of the Criminal Code; careless Storage of a firearm, contrary to Sec. 86(2) of the Criminal Code; possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to Sec. 88(2) of the Criminal Code; unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to Sec. 91(3) of the Criminal Code; and possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, contrary to Sec. 92(3) of the Criminal Code. Awab El-Sandali is scheduled to make his next court appearance in La Ronge on June 1st, 2023.
32-year-old Bradley Ratt from the La Ronge District is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, contrary to Sec. 5(2) of the CDSA; obstruction, contrary to Sec. 129(a) of the Criminal Code; careless Storage of a firearm, contrary to Sec. 86(2) of the Criminal Code; possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to Sec. 88(2) of the Criminal Code; unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to Sec. 91(3) of the Criminal Code; possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, contrary to Sec. 92(3) of the Criminal Code; breach of a firearms prohibition, contrary to Sec. 117.01(3) of the Criminal Code; and breaching a release order, contrary to Sec. 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code. Bradley Ratt is scheduled to make his next court appearance in La Ronge on June 1, 2023.
43-year-old Patricia Charles from the La Ronge District, was arrested and released with a court date scheduled to take place on June 26, 2023, in La Ronge. She has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, contrary to Sec. 5(2) of the CDSA; obstruction, contrary to Sec. 129(a) of the Criminal Code; careless Storage of a firearm, contrary to Sec. 86(2) of the Criminal Code; possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to Sec. 88(2) of the Criminal Code; unauthorized possession of a firearm, contrary to Sec. 91(3) of the Criminal Code; possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, contrary to Sec. 92(3) of the Criminal Code; and breaching a probation order, contrary to Sec.733.1(1) of the Criminal Code (Information # 90500460).
May 25: At approximately 9 p.m., Pierceland RCMP received a report of a robbery at a business on Highway 21 near Pierceland, SK. Investigation has determined a male, armed with a knife, entered the business and demanded cash. The male left the business and fled on foot. There were no injuries reported to the police. As a result of the investigation, Pierceland RCMP have charged and arrested 30-year-old Kelvin Crookedneck of Island Lake First Nation with robbery with offensive weapon, contrary to Sec. 344 of the Criminal Code; Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, contrary to Sec. 88(2) of the Criminal Code; and obstructing a peace officer, contrary to Sec.129. (a) of the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on June 1, 2023 (Information
May 26: Saskatchewan RCMP WEST locate male wanted for breach of statutory release in Saskatoon
May 27: At approximately 3 p.m., Yorkton RCMP responded to the report of a collision between a truck and a train between Highway 309 and Highway 9. Initial investigation determined a 16-year-old driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, collided with a power unit on the CN train. The local fire department along with officers from the CN Rail also responded. Yorkton RCMP attended in an assisting capacity and maintained traffic safety. The driver was charged for driving a vehicle without due care and attention under Sec. 213(1) of the Traffic Safety Act.
May 27: At approximately 2:26 p.m., Esterhazy RCMP responded to the report of a vehicle rollover carrying four occupants on Range Road 1325, approximately 3.5 km north of Churchbridge, SK. Esterhazy RCMP responded immediately along with EMS from Langenburg. A 15-year-old female was identified as being the driver of the vehicle, and did not have any injuries reported to police. Two other passengers, an 18-year-old female and a 16-year-old male were all taken to hospital with what were reported as non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released from hospital. A 20-year-old male passenger was declared deceased on scene by EMS. His family has been notified. An RCMP collision analyst along with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service also attended to investigate further. The investigation into the cause of the rollover is ongoing.
