RCMP seeks public's assistance to help locate black truck in fatal hit and run

On June 22, 2023 at approximately 5:50 p.m., Punnichy RCMP received a report of a collision involving a small child on George Gordon First Nation.

Investigation determined a pick-up truck struck a child, then fled. The child was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.

On June 23, Punnichy RCMP charged 33-year-old Mervin Poorman from Kawacatoose First Nation with one count, failure to stop after an accident resulting in death, Section 320.16(3), Criminal Code, and one count, operation of a vehicle while prohibited, Section 320.18, Criminal Code.
