A 62-year-old man, 58-year-old man, and a 57-year-old woman, all from Caraquet, N.B., have been arrested following a drug trafficking investigation in the community.
In February 2023, members from the Caraquet RCMP Detachment began an investigation into reports of illegal drugs in the community.
On March 24, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of the Caraquet and Lamèque RCMP detachments executed a search warrant at a residence on St-Pierre East Boulevard, in Caraquet, N.B. During the search, police seized quantities of what are believed to be cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis, hashish, drug paraphernalia, contraband tobacco products, a prohibited weapon, an unsecured firearm, and money. A 62-year-old man, 58-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman were arrested at the scene.
They were all released and will appear in court at a later date.
Members of the Tracadie RCMP detachment, Community Crime Reduction Unit (CCRU), Forensic Identification Services and Police Dog Services assisted with the search.
