Lunenburg District RCMP investigates serious collision

Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating a serious collision that occurred in Blockhouse.

Yesterday, at approximately 1:50 p.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, fire and EHS, responded to a report of a vehicle collision at Hwy. 103's exit 11. RCMP officers learned that an Infiniti sport utility vehicle was travelling east and merging onto the highway when it collided with a Toyota Rav 4, travelling in the same direction.

The driver of the Rav 4, a 78-year-old man, and the passenger, a 25-year-old man, both of Liverpool, suffered serious injuries and were transported to hospital by EHS.

The three occupants of the Infiniti did not suffer injuries.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Hwy. 103 was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
