Hopedale RCMP arrests impaired driver on snowmobile

Hopedale RCMP arrested and charged a woman who was operating a snowmobile on the night of April 10, 2023. She was charged with impaired operation and driving while prohibited in Canada.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Monday night, police responded to a report of a person driving a snowmobile recklessly within the community of Hopedale. Upon arrival, they observed a female driving a snowmobile while exhibiting clear signs of impairment.

The woman blew over two times the legal limit on a roadside breath test and was brought to the detachment, where further testing confirmed those amounts. She was arrested and charged with impaired operation and driving while prohibited in Canada.

The woman was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. Her snowmobile was seized and impounded.
