Gods Lake Narrows RCMP traffic stop Christmas Day leads to seizure of weapons

On December 25, 2023, at approximately 12:20 am, Gods Lake Narrows RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with three occupants travelling at a high rate of speed near the community airport.

Further investigation led officers to search the vehicle where ammunition as well as two firearms were located. One of the firearms was loaded.

A 34-year-old male, and two females, 30 and 27-years-old, all from the community, have been charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purposes
  • Unauthorized possession of ammunition

All were released on an undertaking with conditions.
