On February 5, 2023, at approximately 4:20 am, Cross Lake RCMP responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Sipiseek Road, on Pimicikamak Cree Nation.
A vehicle travelling on Sipiseek Road, collided with a pedestrian on the roadway. The pedestrian, a 22-year-old female from the community, was taken to the nursing station where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 42-year-old female, and passengers, two males aged 23 and 34, all stopped and remained at the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled and Cross Lake RCMP continue to investigate.
