Northwest Territories RCMP will be observing Canadian Police and Peace Officers' National Memorial Day. Northwest Territories RCMP will hold a ceremony at the headquarters building in Yellowknife, NT.

In honour of those Police and Peace Officer's that have been killed in the Line of Duty, the Northwest Territories RCMP invite media and public to join us on Sunday, September 24, 2023

The service will commence at 11:00 a.m. at Northwest Territories RCMP Headquarters, Henry Larsen Building, 5010 Veteran's Memorial Drive.

Our Annual Memorial Service is a short ceremony which will involve our Regular Members on Parade.

This year we are mourning the loss and recognizing the following members who will be added to the National Memorial:

- Toronto Police Constable Andrew Hong
- South Simcoe Police Constable Devon Northrup
- South Simcoe Police Constable Morgan Russell
- RCMP Constable Shaelyn Yang
- Constable Grzegorz Pierzchala
- Edmonton Police Constable Brett Ryan
- Edmonton Police Constable Travis Jordan
- RCMP Constable Harvinder Singh Dhami
- OPP Sergeant Eric Mueller
- OPP Detective Constable Steven Tourangeau

In the Northwest Territories we will also be honouring the fifty-six individuals that over the years have given their lives while serving in the Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut.

This National Memorial Day gives Canadians an opportunity each year to formally express appreciation for the dedication of police and peace officers, who made the ultimate tragic sacrifice to keep our communities safe.
