News release

A 52-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision in Murray Harbour.

On October 1, 2023, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Main Street in Murray Harbour. Murray Harbour Fire Department, Murray River Fire Department and Island EMS also responded to the call.

A 52-year-old man, who was a driver in one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and transported to hospital.

Initial indications of the collision scene seem to show one vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed and veered into the side of the other vehicle. An RCMP collision reconstructionist and the PEI Coroner's office are providing additional assistance with the investigation which is still on going.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.
