33-year-old woman dies following single-vehicle crash

A 33-year-old woman from Shediac, N.B., has died following a single-vehicle crash in Forest Glen, N.B.

On July 25, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Caledonia Region RCMP detachment, the Elgin and Petitcodiac Fire Departments and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 905, in Forest Glen. A 33-year-old woman from Shediac, who was a passenger of the vehicle, died at the scene as a result of her injuries. The male driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle and drove off the road. Speed and alcohol are believed to have been a factor in the crash.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner's office both attended the scene and are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the woman's exact cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
