Woman wanted in June 19 firearms incident in La Ronge arrested

On August 11, 2022, investigation by La Ronge RCMP determined Celine Charles was in their detachment area. Charles was wanted on one count of obstruction, Section 129, Criminal Code in relation to a June 19 firearms incident in La Ronge.

Officers located Charles in Air Ronge. She attempted to flee, but she was arrested without incident.

She will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on August 12, 2022.

"All four individuals charged in relation to this dangerous incident – which involved a firearm being discharged at a police officer and a dangerous person alert being issued in the La Ronge area – are now in custody," says Sgt. Ashley St. Germaine, from Saskatchewan RCMP's Prince Albert General Investigation Section, which has been investigating this incident. "We want to thank the La Ronge community for their assistance and support during this complex investigation. Together, we are sending a clear message to those who wish to threaten our communities' safety: we will not tolerate it."

As a result of further investigation into the July 5 arrest and firearm seizure, Allan Sanderson, 36, is also charged with:

• 1 count, unlicensed possession of a prohibited firearm, Section 92(2), Criminal Code
• 1 count, unlicensed possession of prohibited weapon with ammunition, Section 95(2), Criminal Code
• 2 counts, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(2), Criminal Code
• 2 counts, careless transportation of firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code
• 2 counts, possess prohibited weapon/ammunition while prohibited, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code

He will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on July 7, 2022.

Celine is described as 5'4", 112 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She has a rose tattoo on her left hand, a heart and flame tattoo on her left arm and "Charles" tattooed on her chest.

La Ronge RCMP arrest male wanted in June 19 firearms incident

On July 5, 2022, La Ronge RCMP received information about the location of a wanted male. Officers approached a vehicle at a business on Highway #2 in La Ronge, located the male hiding under a blanket in the back seat and arrested him at approximately 12:45 p.m. They located and seized an illegally-modified loaded firearm during a subsequent search of the vehicle.

The male was 36-year-old Allan Sanderson, who was charged with obstruction and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle in relation to a June 19, 2022 firearms incident that prompted an emergency alert in La Ronge, Air Ronge, Lac La Ronge and the surrounding areas. Officers have been searching for him since an arrest warrant was issued on June 20.

Sanderson will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on July 7 on the charges from his arrest warrant. The investigation continues into the firearm seized from the vehicle he was in.

"La Ronge RCMP is very grateful for all the assistance from the community we've received – from following police direction during the incident on June 19 to passing along information that has helped progress the investigation," says La Ronge RCMP Sgt. Brent Nicol. "Our community is safer when we have this productive, collaborative relationship between residents and police."

Terrance Daigneault and Nikeyta Bradfield were also arrested in relation to this incident on June 22, 2022. Daigneault will next appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on July 7 for 11 charges, including two counts of attempted murder. Bradfield will next appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on August 8 on two counts of accessory after the fact to attempted murder with a firearm.

La Ronge investigation continues; two outstanding people on warrants

Two people were arrested in Saskatoon Wednesday evening and two are outstanding with warrants for their arrest in relation to a dangerous person with firearm investigation in La Ronge. The Saskatchewan RCMP would like to acknowledge and thank the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band for their continued support during this ongoing investigation.

Investigation resulted in the arrest of Terrance Daigneault the evening of June 22, 2022 at a business on Northridge Drive in Saskatoon. Terrance was arrested without incident by Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs, Tactical Support, K9, and Patrol units and the Saskatchewan RCMP.

Terrance will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on June 24 at 9:30 a.m.

24-year-old Nikeyta Bradfield of La Ronge was also arrested at the business. She is charged with two counts, knowing that Terrance Arnold Daigneault had attempted to murder (RCMP officer) while using a firearm by discharging the firearm at said (RCMP officer), did assist Terrance Arnold Daigneault for the purpose of enabling Terrance Arnold Daigneault to escape, contrary to section 239(1)(a) of the Criminal Code; Nikeyta will appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on June 24 at 9:30 a.m.

Celine Charles and Allan Sanderson* have not been located. They may be in the communities of La Ronge, Prince Albert or Saskatoon, but this is not confirmed. They are considered dangerous and the public should not approach them. Anyone with tips or information regarding their whereabouts can contact their local police service or RCMP, call 911 or report information anonymously through Crime Stoppers: 1-800-222-8477.

The morning of June 23, 2022 a search warrant was executed by the Saskatchewan RCMP's Critical Incident Response Team at a residence on the 1300 block of Kowalski Road in La Ronge in relation to this investigation. No charges have been laid in relation to this.

There will continue to be an increased police presence in the La Ronge area through this weekend in relation to this ongoing investigation.

La Ronge investigation: Wanted male arrested

Terrance Daigneault (also goes by Terrance Kenny) was arrested yesterday evening at a business on Northridge Drive in Saskatoon. An adult female was also arrested. No further charges have been laid.

The RCMP thanks the Saskatoon Police Service for their assistance with this investigation.

"We do not want to see continued violence" - FSIN & RCMP seek peaceful resolution to ongoing investigation and search for three wanted people

As a result of continued investigation by the Saskatchewan RCMP into the dangerous person with firearm incident in La Ronge, 22-year-old Celine Charles of La Ronge is charged with one count of obstruction, section 129 of the Criminal Code. A warrant has been issued for her arrest. Investigation has determined Celine is the third, unaccounted for female after the incident occurred in La Ronge on June 19.

Celine is described as being 5'4" tall, 112 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She has a rose tattoo on her left hand, a heart and flame tattoo on her left arm and "Charles" tattooed on her chest.

29-year-old Terrance Daigneault (also goes by Terrance Kenny) of La Ronge is wanted in relation to multiple charges including two counts of attempted murder with firearm, discharge firearm with intent and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 36-year-old Allan Sanderson of La Ronge is wanted for obstruction and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Both males have not been located and police are actively looking for them*.

This investigation is ongoing.

"Our community members shouldn't have to be fearful of the thoughtless actions of those who choose to participate in criminal activity. This past weekend, people's lives were put on hold by an emergency alert, which is reserved for the most serious of incidents. Community events were cancelled, businesses closed and residents sheltered in the safety of their homes. The threat was real: there's evidence multiple bullets struck a responding RCMP vehicle and charges of attempted murder were laid," says Supt. Ted Munro, Saskatchewan RCMP North District Commander. La Ronge RCMP: Two wanted in relation to firearms incident in La Ronge that prompted emergency alert

La Ronge RCMP are requesting the public's assistance in locating two individuals wanted in relation to a firearms incident that prompted an emergency alert in La Ronge, Air Ronge, Lac La Ronge and the surrounding areas on June 19, 2022.

As a result of investigation, 29-year-old Terrance Daigneault* (also goes by Terrance Kenny) of La Ronge has been charged with the following:

• Two counts, Attempted Murder with Firearm – Sec. 239(1)(a) of the Criminal Code;
• Two counts, Discharge Firearm with Intent – Sec. 244(c) of the Criminal Code;
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – Sec. 88 of the Criminal Code;
• Two counts, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Sec. 92(1) of the Criminal Code;
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle – Sec. 94 of the Criminal Code;
• Two counts, Obstruction – Sec. 129(a) of the Criminal Code;
• Failing to Comply with a Release Order – Sec. 145(5) of the Criminal Code.

Daigneault can be described as being approximately 5'8" tall, 180 lbs with a medium build, with brown eyes and brown hair. He has a tattoo on his right forearm that reads "No regrets" and one on his right hand that reads "Kenny." He was last seen wearing black shoes, black pants, a black long sleeved shirt with gold designs down both sleeves. A photo of Daigneault was released in conjunction with the emergency alert. He may be injured, but this cannot be confirmed.

The second individual, 36-year-old Allan Sanderson* of La Ronge, has been charged with the following:

• Obstruction – Sec. 129(a) of the Criminal Code;
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle – Sec. 94 of the Criminal Code.

Sanderson can be described as being approximately 5'4" tall, 134 lbs with a slender build, with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing black shoes, black pants, and a black t-shirt with a white logo on the back.

Warrants have been issued for the arrests of both Daigneault and Sanderson.

They are known to frequent the Saskatoon, La Ronge, Ile-a-la-Crosse, Beauval and Buffalo Narrows areas. Police do not know if the two are currently together or if they have access to a vehicle(s).

Terrance Daigneault and Allan Sanderson should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

The Saskatchewan RCMP continues to ask the public to be vigilant and to report any tips and information related to these two individuals to police by calling La Ronge RCMP at 306-425-6730, 310-RCMP or 911 in an emergency. Dangerous person with firearm in La Ronge prompts emergency alert

A firearm was discharged at police, multiple people were arrested and an emergency alert issued after a serious incident in La Ronge on Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Around 11:30 a.m. June 19, two La Ronge RCMP officers were conducting patrols in the community when a black car drove past their vehicle at a high rate of speed on Far Reserve Road. RCMP officers activated their emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued driving and turned into a driveway at a residence on the 100 block of Far Reserve Road.

The male driver of the vehicle fled the area and one RCMP officer followed – both on foot. The second RCMP officer was outside of the police truck when a second male exited the car with a firearm and discharged in the direction of the police vehicle and officer. The RCMP officer also discharged their firearm. Attached is a photograph of a bullet hole in the responding RCMP vehicle's windshield. A second bullet hit the front radiator.

The two officers moved to a safe location and more La Ronge RCMP officers arrived.

A gathering was happening at the residence where the black car was parked. Multiple people exited the residence and were arrested, including a male and female that investigation determined were also inside the black car and went inside the house after the firearms were discharged. A third female from the black car is unaccounted for.

Given the serious nature of the incident and firearm discharged, a broadcast immediate emergency alert was issued to the public, notifying them of a dangerous person with firearms in the La Ronge area at 12:29 p.m. An alert update with more information was issued at 1:40 p.m. All alert details can be located on the SaskAlert website: https://emergencyalert.saskatchewan.ca/alerts/2022/06/25572.html

At one point a drone was flying above RCMP officers on scene. While we understand the public's interest in serious incidents, its presence and unknown intent impacted police officer safety. An RCMP officer on scene called out on a loud hailer and a message was included in the emergency alert update asking the operator to stop using their drone. Shortly after these two actions, drone activity in the incident area ceased.

The RCMP Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) responded to assist. As a result of the CIRT's response on scene, around 4:30 p.m. three more people, two males and one female, exited the residence and were arrested.

In total, 17 people were arrested in relation to this incident. As a result of continued investigation, 15 people have been released without charges and determined not to be involved. The investigation is ongoing and we will provide updates as they become available.

The whereabouts of three individuals – the initial male who fled the area on foot, the male who discharged a weapon and a female occupant of the car, have not been located.

Suspect 1 is described as a male with short dark hair with sides shaved, wearing dark pants and a dark shirt with gold patterns down the sleeves and dark runners. He has not been located and police continue to look for him. A photograph of this individual is attached. We are seeking the public's help to identify this individual (contact info below). If you see him, do not approach him and contact police immediately.

Around 4:30 p.m. La Ronge RCMP received a report of two people trying to get inside a residence on Cook Crescent approximately seven kilometres away. RCMP officers responded immediately and after a foot chase, two youths were arrested. Investigation determined this was unrelated to the incident on Far Reserve Road. The youths were not charged.

The emergency alert was cancelled by the Saskatchewan RCMP at 5:35 p.m. June 19 and the public was also notified of the cancellation via our news partners (a media release was issued) and the Saskatchewan RCMP's public website and official Facebook and Twitter channels. The Saskatchewan RCMP continues to ask the public to be vigilant and report any tips and information related to this investigation to police by calling La Ronge RCMP at 306-425-6730, call 310-RCMP or 911 in an emergency. Anyone with information can also call Crime Stoppers anonymously and may be eligible for a reward: 1-800-222-8477.

No RCMP officers were injured during this incident and no other injuries have been reported to police. The Prince Albert RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS), with the assistance of Saskatoon, Yorkton and Regina RCMP GIS, has taken carriage of the investigation, which is ongoing at this time. There will be a continued police presence on Far Reserve Road during the investigation.

Units assisting with the initial response and/or subsequent investigation include: La Ronge RCMP officers and Detachment Services Assistants, Waskesiu RCMP Detachment, Saskatchewan RCMP CIRT, RCMP Police Dog Services, Prince Albert RCMP Traffic Services, Saskatchewan RCMP Forensic Identification Section and conservation officers with the Provincial Protective Services Branch.

"In conjunction with this call for service our La Ronge RCMP officers responded to, there was a Children's Festival happening in the community, garage sales and people enjoying the sunny weekend weather. La Ronge RCMP received an additional six calls for service in the same time period they were managing this dangerous situation," shares S/Sgt. Dean Bridle, La Ronge RCMP Detachment Commander. "Police officers were also following up on tips from the public as a result of the emergency alerts. When an incident is unfolding, there is a lot going on and many risk factors our responding police officers must consider, the scope of which are far-reaching and public and police officer safety must always be top of mind. I am grateful for the kind words our detachment received from members of our community following the conclusion of the incident and thank the people we encountered yesterday who cooperated with police and followed direction. We didn't want anyone to be hurt. We hope the information we are releasing today gives the public more insight into the seriousness of what occurred."

*CANCELLED* Saskatchewan RCMP public safety alert: Dangerous persons with firearms in La Ronge

The dangerous persons with firearms alert for La Ronge/Air Ronge issued by the Saskatchewan RCMP has been cancelled.

At this time, multiple individuals have been taken into custody. No injuries have been reported.

The individual whose photo was released in conjunction with the emergency alert has not yet been located. Police continue to look for him. His identity has not been confirmed. The public should remain vigilant.

If anyone sees an individual matching the description of the suspect (photo attached), they are asked to contact their local police service or RCMP immediately. In an emergency, the public should call 911. The suspect is considered dangerous and should not be approached.

Suspect 2: Description unknown. At this time, believed to be inside house 136 on Far Reserve Road in Air Ronge.
