An RCMP Police Dog team has arrested a man, after catching him in a school in Borden-Carleton, that he had broken into.

On December 5, 2022, at approximately 1:20 a.m., East Prince RCMP responded to a break-in at the Amherst Cove Consolidated School. RCMP Officers noted some damage to the building and secured the area, while an RCMP Police Dog team searched the building. A 45-year-old man was located inside the school and was safely arrested.

The man has since been charged with Break and Enter, Mischief and Failure to Comply with a Probation Order. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Summerside Provincial Court on court January 18, 2023.
