January 28, 2022
Regina, Saskatchewan

News release

Have you ever wondered what training to become an RCMP member is like? Follow the journey a cadet takes to become a Mountie starting January 31, 2022, with the launch of the RCMP Academy's Cadet Chronicles.

Today, the RCMP is made up of more than 19,000 police officers and they all have one thing in common - they have all passed through the gates of Depot Division in Regina, Saskatchewan, to complete the Cadet Training Program (CTP). The Cadet Chronicles are set to document the current 26-week CTP through the lens of cadets from the day they arrive to graduation.

A curated series of posts and stories on the division's social media accounts, followed by website wrap up each week, will provide a glimpse into present-day training. The posts will highlight various training milestones, training and support units at Depot, fun facts, cadet quotes, and divisions across the country.

We are excited to share our traditions, our history and what we have learned over the past 150 years. It's what allows us to provide a modern, world-class training to our cadets that instills pride and champions diversity.

Chief Superintendent Sylvie Bourassa-Muise, Commanding Officer, Depot Division
