Police seize more than a pound of cocaine in Summerside

The Prince District Joint Force Operation (JFO) Unit has seized drugs and arrested a man during the execution of a search warrant at a home in Summerside.

On December 7, 2022, the Prince District JFO Unit executed a search warrant at residence on Central St. in Summerside as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. At the scene, officers safely arrested a 30-year-old Summerside man.

During the search, police seized more than a pound of cocaine, 70 methamphetamine pills, over $4,000 cash, a prohibited weapon, ammunition, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

The man was held in custody and will appear in Summerside Provincial Court today to face charges of:

-Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
-Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
-Possession of a Prohibited Weapon While Being on a Weapon Prohibition Order
-Possession of Ammunition While Being on a Weapon Prohibition Order
-Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
-Breach of Probation

The Prince District JFO unit in comprised of members from the Prince District RCMP, Summerside Police Services, and Kensington Police Services. The Summerside Major Crime Unit assisted with the execution of the search warrant.
