Halifax District RCMP is under new leadership with the appointment of Chief Superintendent Jeffrey Christie to Officer in Charge.
With 25 years of service in the Maritimes, 12 in Nova Scotia, C/Supt. Christie is pleased to be back on Canada's east coast as part of the RCMP's leadership team.
"It's an honour to be serving in Nova Scotia again," says C/Supt. Christie, who has family roots in the province. "I'm looking forward to working in close partnership with Halifax Regional Police and building stronger relationships with community leaders across the district."
A 32-year member of the RCMP, C/Supt. Christie brings a vast operational policing background to the Officer in Charge role.
Immediately before returning to the province, C/Supt. Christie was the Criminal Operations Officer for the Northwest Territories. Prior to that, he worked as the Assistant Operations Officer for the Lower Mainland District in British Columbia.
