On May 8, 2021, at approximately 3:15 pm, Ste Rose du Lac RCMP received a report that there was a male walking around the community of Ebb and Flow First Nation with a firearm. Police responded immediately and quickly located a lone male standing on Northeast Road with what appeared to be a firearm.
Police used the loud speaker on their vehicle to advise the male he was under arrest and to drop the weapon. The male walked away from police, toward a bush area. The officers contained the scene until the RCMP Emergency Response Team arrived on scene, as well as more officers from Ste Rose du Lac.
Jacob Levasseur, 23, from the community was apprehended. Nobody was injured. He is remanded and facing multiple charges. No one from the community was evacuated for public safety as the male was in an area without residences and was contained by police.
The investigation is ongoing.
