Man wanted by RCMP on arrest warrant

Pond Inlet RCMP have obtained a warrant for the arrest of a man who has been charged with several offences.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on February 17th, 2021 the Pond Inlet RCMP responded to a complaint of an adult male being assaulted at a residence in the 1100 block area. Officers located a 35-year-old man with serious, non-life threatening injuries. The suspect had fled the home prior to police arrival and the victim was medevaced to Qikiqtani General Hospital for treatment.

Mosa Qanguq, 37, of Clyde River has been charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Fail to comply with release order

Qanguq is believed to be in Pond Inlet. Qanguq is an Inuit male, 5'2"and 150 lbs with short black hair and brown eyes. Members of the public are asked not to approach Qanguq if he is located, and call police. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mosa Qanguq, is asked to contact the RCMP at 867-979-1111 or to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. You can also text a tip to Crime Stoppers.
