On December 2, 2021, 48-year-old David Elliott, who has been evading police since October 2021, was arrested at a residence in Sandringham.
On October 20, 2021, Glovertown RCMP received information that Elliott was breaching his court ordered conditions in relation to charges laid against him in July of 2021. Elliott was located that same day at a traffic stop and fled on foot. He has been evading police since that time and a warrant was issued by the court for his arrest. On Thursday evening, information led police to a Sandringham residence and an additional warrant was issued by the court to authorize police to enter the residence to arrest Elliott, who was located hiding in an attic. He was taken into custody without incident.
Elliott's criminal charges currently before the court include:
- Flight from Police
- Seven counts of uttering threats
- Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
- Two counts of fail to comply with a release order
He attended court on December 3, 2021, and was released on further conditions. He is scheduled to attend court at a later date.
