Dauphin RCMP respond to shots fired at residence

On February 25, 2021, at approximately 3:10 am, Dauphin RCMP received a report of an assault in progress on 5th Avenue NE in Dauphin, Manitoba. When officers arrived, it was found that the assault had concluded, but one round from a firearm had been fired through the front window of a residence.

Investigation has determined that three males had a physical altercation in front of the residence. When the altercation concluded, a 19-year-old male resident of the home went inside the residence, at which time a round was fired through the window. At the time, seven people were inside the residence, with the youngest being an infant under one year of age. Nobody was injured.

The two non-resident males, 17 and 18, involved in the altercation were located by police and taken into custody, where they remain. The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the RCMP West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team.
