Chemawawin RCMP traffic stop leads to multiple charges

On April 20, 2021, at approximately 12:50 am, officers conducted a traffic stop in the community of Easterville.

Officers approached the vehicle, with two occupants inside, and spoke with the male driver. In speaking with the driver, officers observed open liquor in the passenger side area of the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle under the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act (LGCCA) resulted in the seizure of several opened and unopened bottles of liquor, approximately 221 grams of cocaine and other drug related paraphernalia.

The 42-year-old male driver and the 19-year-old female passenger, both from Easterville, were placed under arrest for offences under the LGCCA and for Possession of a Controlled Substance. They were taken back to the Detachment where they were held in custody overnight.


The two accused were later released for a future court date scheduled in Chemawawin where they will face charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking as well as offences under the LGCCA.
