Shelburne RCMP needs your help

Shelburne RCMP is requesting assistance from the public with an assault investigation. Police are asking for help to identify the suspect in an assault that occurred on September 14, between the hours of 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Brighton Rd. in Lockeport.

A youth was walking on the trail that runs from Brighton Road, over Calf Island, to Lockeport. A man exited a wooded area, grabbed the youth from behind and assaulted him. The youth was able to get free and he fled the area. The suspect is described as:

  • a white male, 50 to 60 years old
  • 6 feet tall and 180-200 pounds
  • short, greying unkempt hair
  • was wearing a grey shirt, bluish green cargo pants and a disposable medical mask

The trail area is frequented by cyclists and walkers, and investigators are hopeful that someone was in the area at the time and may have information about the incident.
