Yellowknife RCMP respond to a house fire in Kam Lake

Yellowknife RCMP are assisting the NWT Office of the Fire Marshal in an investigation into a fire that occurred on Wednesday, May 29, ay 7:20 pm in Kam Lake area.

Police officers arrived on the scene to find City of Yellowknife Fire Division engaged with the fire. RCMP assisted with traffic control.

One woman suffered serious injuries and was treated at Stanton Territorial Hospital and then transported to Edmonton for further treatment. Two domestic dogs died during the fire.

"We are sorry for those affected by the fire" states Marie York-Condon, NT RCMP Media Relations.

RCMP thanks the City of Yellowknife Fire Division and the Emergency Medical Response Team for their rapid response to the fire.
