Cavendish Beach Music Festival reminders from PEI RCMP

July 3, 2019
Cavendish, Prince Edward Island

News release

With increased traffic across the Island, especially in the Cavendish area for this weekend's Cavendish Beach Music Festival, RCMP are emphasizing that driving while impaired, speeding, and open liquor violations will be a focus and everyone is asked to adhere to the law, for their own safety and the safety of others.

When you are travelling, make sure you have made plans for getting to and from your accommodations and or campground and travel with at least one friend, employing the buddy system. If you are using commercial transportation, make sure that it is an authorized taxi or bus and do not accept drives from strangers, no matter how friendly the gesture seems.

While the majority of people attending the concert are law abiding, it only takes a few bad choices or unfortunate events to create a dangerous situation with long lasting results. Make sure you take the time to know how you are travelling and make sure you and your friends are getting to and from the venue safely.

Make sure you drink lots of non-alcoholic beverages and wear your cowboy hat to avoid heat stroke. Let's all do our part and enjoy a safe and fun concert event!
