2021 Gender and Harassment Advisory Committee Annual Report - F Division
Background
F Division did not have a QI GHAC meeting due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Q3 meeting was held via teleconference on October 22, 2020. C/Supt. Alfredo Bangloy in the role of F Division Acting CO chaired the meeting.
Objective(s)
To promote awareness of the F GHAC committee, its mandate and initiatives to F Division employees.
For F GHAC committee to become more knowledgeable in the areas of harassment, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity, equity and inclusivity so that we can share information with divisional employees and advise the Commanding Officer accordingly.
Current Status
On June 1, 2020 F Division raised the Pride flag in front of our HQ building. In addition, rainbow horse and rider pins were distributed to all units and detachments across the province for employees.
Cpl. Rielly Knock continues to sit on the National Council Diversity & Inclusion (NCDI) and provides updates to the F GHAC on a regular basis.
Cpl. Rielly Knock was nominated for the IACP 40 Under 40 for his ongoing advocacy and work in educating our employees on LGBTQ2. A/Commr. Mark Fisher (Ret'd) provided a letter of recommendation in support of Cpl. Knock's nomination.
C/Supt. Alfredo Bangloy spoke to our F GHAC on the Supreme Court of Canada decision in Pilgrim.
F GHAC member Joe Cataldo (F Div. OSB) has done work on the GBA+ analysis for Clare's Law as well as consulted with Cpl. Rielly Knock about the TNB2S perspective regarding the policy.
F Division recognized the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) on November 20, 2020 on the F Division Infoweb as well as on our Saskatchewan RCMP social media pages.
F Division is now a member of the Saskatchewan Association of Women in Policing.
F Division formed the F Division Diversity & Inclusion Planning Committee. Each month the committee (made up of employees from every business line/District) runs an initiative relating to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
