Two men arrested following break, enter and thefts

A 43-year-old man from St. Stephen, N.B., and a 29-year-old man from Little Ridge, N.B., have been arrested following a series of break, enter and thefts in St. Stephen.

On July 23, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP responded to a report of a break, enter, and theft at a business on Milltown Boulevard in the community. The individuals forcefully gained entry by breaking a door and stole a significant quantity of cigarettes.

Later that day, at approximately 2 p.m., it is believed that the same individuals stole clothing at another business in the community. It was determined that one of the individuals was also responsible for another theft that happened in St. Stephen on July 19, 2024.

On July 25, the 43-year-old man was arrested without incident at a residence in St. Stephen in connection with the investigation.

On July 27, the 29-year-old man was also arrested without incident at his residence in connection with the investigation.

Both individuals were released on conditions and will appear in Saint John Provincial Court at a later date.
